About

I’m Martin. I build createtodo, a task manager for the gap between a notes file and a full project tracker. I wanted identifiers, statuses and dependencies when a project called for them, and a plain, fast list the rest of the time, without the ceremony of tools built for companies a hundred times my size.

Two ideas decide most things. Speed: the app is local-first, so it opens instantly, works offline and syncs in real time when you’re connected. Restraint: a feature earns its place by removing friction, not by adding an option.

Built with itself

createtodo tracks its own development. Every entry on the changelog started as a todo in the createtodo list, and since coding agents became part of how I work, most of those todos are filed, claimed and closed by an agent while I decide what matters. That is why agents are first-class here: an MCP server, a JSON-first command line, an installable skill, and questionnaires an agent can send when it needs a human decision. How it’s made

A SolidJS app in front of a Postgres database that runs in your browser (PGlite), kept in sync with the server through ElectricSQL. The API is Hono on Bun, the database is Postgres at Neon, and it all runs on AWS. Nothing exotic, chosen so that the app stays fast and I can keep it running alone.

Alpha

createtodo is in alpha and free while it stays there. Once it reaches a stable release it will be a paid product; pricing is not final. Expect rough edges, and follow progress on the changelog.
