Archive & trash

createtodo never makes you choose between a tidy list and losing history. Finished work moves out of the way but stays browsable; deletions are soft and reversible.

Archive

The archive holds completed todos and archived lists, keeping day-to-day lists focused on what’s left while your history remains searchable. Open it with G then A, from the sidebar, or through the command palette.

Completed todos move there on their own after the number of days set under Settings → General → Auto-archive. A todo can also be archived by hand, with its subtodos, from its right-click menu or the ⋯ menu on its page; the toast that follows offers Undo, and ⌘ Z brings it back later too. A list is archived from its ⋯ menu, its sidebar row or the Lists page, with the same Undo and ⌘ Z; its todos go with it and come back with it. The archive page has four tabs — Todos, Lists, Deleted todos and Deleted lists — and a row can be restored from any of them; every restore offers Undo on its toast as well. Archived todos are read from the server rather than your local database, so they do not take up room on your device and the CLI cannot see them offline.

Trash

Deleting a todo (⌘ ⌫) moves it to the trash rather than destroying it. The trash is the archive’s Deleted todos tab; open it with G then T to browse or restore deleted todos, including ones an agent removed on your behalf. Deleted lists have a tab of their own. Deleting can be guarded with a confirmation under Settings → Preferences.

Undo

For everything else, ⌘ Z undoes your last change and ⌘ ⇧ Z redoes it — a status change, a drag, a bulk edit, a deleted view, a sidebar reorder. Deletions also offer Undo on their toast. Between undo, the trash, and the archive, it is hard to genuinely lose work in createtodo.
