Selection & bulk editing

Selection & bulk editing

Select several todos at once and change their status, priority, assignee, labels or due date together.

A list is not one todo at a time. Select a handful and act on all of them.

Selecting

  • ⌘-click a row to add or remove it from the selection
  • ⇧-click extends the selection over the visible rows between the last click and this one
  • ⇧ ↑/⇧ ↓ grow or shrink the selection a row at a time
  • ⌘ A selects every visible row
  • Press on empty space beside or below the rows and drag a rectangle; the rows it crosses are selected (hold ⇧ to add to what is already selected)

Adjacent selected rows read as one block. A plain click on a row, a plain click on the background, or Esc clears the selection.

The bulk bar

While anything is selected, a bar slides in at the bottom of the page with the count and the same property bar a todo page has — status, priority, assignee, labels, due date — each applied to every selected todo. The bar also offers Delete selected todos (⌘ ⌫) and Clear selection (Esc). A bulk change is one step: a single ⌘ Z undoes it across every todo it touched, and a bulk delete sits behind one toast.

Dragging a selection

Drag any selected row and the whole selection comes with it, shown as a pill with the count. Dropped, the rows land together as one contiguous run in their original order — into another group, under another parent, or wherever the drop line sits. A drop back where you started changes nothing.

Agents have the same power through the MCP server’s bulk_update_todos and bulk_archive_todos, which select by identifiers or by filter and can dry-run first.
