What is createtodo?

createtodo sits between a full project tracker like Linear and a plain todo list. You get identifiers, statuses, priorities, labels, and dependencies when you want control — and a quiet, keyboard-first list when you just want to work through an action plan.

Built around three ideas

Minimal by design. No sprawling settings, no process to maintain. Capture, organize, complete — and get back to the work.

Fast everywhere. The app is local-first: your todos live on your device, so it opens instantly and keeps working offline. Changes sync in real time to every tab, device, and teammate the moment they happen.

Agents are first-class users. createtodo ships an MCP server, a JSON-first command-line tool, and an installable skill, so AI agents can read, file, and finish todos in the same workspace you see in the app.

The shape of a workspace

Work lives in a workspace shared with your team. Inside it, todos are organized into lists, tagged with labels, and connected with dependencies. Every todo gets a short identifier like MZ-123 that you can reference in commits, chats, and agent sessions.

Alpha

createtodo is in early development and free while in alpha. The foundations — real-time sync, collaboration, keyboard-first navigation — are in place, but expect rough edges as we ship. Follow along in the changelog.
