Getting started

Getting started

Sign in, capture your first todos, and learn the handful of keys that make createtodo fast.

Head to createtodo.com/login and sign in. You land in your workspace with a list open and ready.

Capture your first todos

Press C — or click the create button — to open the new todo dialog. Give the todo a title, and optionally a description, priority, labels, or a due date. Then:

  • ⌘ Enter saves the todo
  • ⌘ ⇧ Enter saves it and keeps the dialog open, so you can empty your head in one sitting

Move with the keyboard

Everything in createtodo is reachable without the mouse:

  • / (or j/k) step through todos and lists
  • Space previews the selected todo without leaving the list
  • ⌘ K opens the command palette, which reaches everything else

The full reference lives in keyboard shortcuts.

Add structure when you need it

Press L to create a list — one per project, area, or client. Break a big todo into subtodos, tag related work with labels, and mark what blocks what with dependencies. None of it is required; structure is there when a flat list stops being enough.

Bring your agents

If you use Claude, Cursor, or another coding agent, connect it to the same workspace with the MCP server or the ct CLI. Todos an agent files show up in the app instantly.
